A living faith is something that takes exploration. No matter if you are a child or an adult growing in faith requires an atmosphere where questions are welcome, where nurture and encouragement are offered. At First Congregational Church, 17 East Main Street in South Paris you’ll find a welcoming faith community that encourages growth through openness. Meeting in the Christian tradition, First Congregational Church invites you to join them in pursuit of faithful living in a caring church community. A local and autonomous church we are in fellowship with the National Association of Congregational Churches and the Congregational Christian Council of Maine.
Reverend Don Mayberry has been serving as senior pastor at First Congregational Church since August of 2001. He and his wife Judy, an artist, live on Norway Lake. They have two adult daughters, Sarah and Susie who live and work in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Don was ordained in the American Baptist tradition in July 1997.
In addition to traditional pastoral duties that take place at the church, Don takes an active role in the community. He serves on local boards, volunteers as a chaplain at the hospital, conducts funerals for community members that have no church affiliation and simply strives to be available offering a pastoral presence in the larger community.
Prior to entering the ministry Don spent 20 years in the radio business and along with Judy played folk music for many years.
We have a wonderful group of people behind the scenes that make everything happen. Read more about our staff.
